JACKIE SANDLE, PASTRY CHEF.
Growing up on the country farm in South Carolina, I would follow my grandmother around the kitchen and watch her make biscuits, bake cakes and sweet potato pies (she would always bake a whole one for me) on our wood burning stove while hoping that she would let me lick the mixing spoon. Years later I would discover my own love for cooking and baking which lead me to obtain a degree in Culinary Management from Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ).

After retiring from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer and from civil service with the U.S. Navy and after years of cooking and baking for myself, for friends, and for family members; I decided to share my joy of baking with you. ​

“What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet.” William Shakespeare felt names were irrelevant but I disagree. The name of your business is the first piece in setting you apart from your competition. It defines you and your product … it leads your vision. I decided on the name “Sweethome Bakeshop” because I wanted a name that would represent the sweet country home in South Carolina and baking … my product offering. Sweethome Bakeshop is what’s called a “cottage food operation” which is a fancy way of saying we are allowed to produce certain foods in our home kitchen and sell them retail to customers.

Our team of skilled bakers meticulously measures and mixes each ingredient, following time-honored recipes and employing artisanal techniques to bring out the best in every bite.

Each dessert is a masterpiece crafted from the ground up. We take pride in making everything from scratch, using only the freshest ingredients to ensure the highest quality and most delicious flavors. Our commitment to freshness starts with the finest flours, rich, creamy butters, and fresh eggs, all blended to create exquisite treats that delight the senses.

From flaky, buttery pastries to decadent cakes and hand-crafted cookies, each dessert is a testament to our passion for baking. We take joy in experimenting with seasonal flavors and unique combinations, always ensuring that our creations are as fresh as they are delicious.

If ordered online, our layer cakes will come frozen, wrapped in plastic, prepackaged in an aluminum tin surrounded by an insulator and boxed to deliver. Pound cakes and Bundt cakes will arrive packaged and boxed in an aluminum tin. All deliveries will come in either an aluminum tin or a cookie container.
